Langinkoski is a quota-based special fishing destination managed by Metsähallitus and the lowest rapids in Langinkoski branch, discharging directly into the sea. In Langinkoski, the only permitted form of fishing is traditional fly fishing, and the area is ideal for it.
Langinkoski is especially known as a sea trout place, but salmon can also be found in the area. As the lowest rapids in the area, it attracts sea trout rising from the sea to the river in the spring and early winter. Langinkoski can be fished from both shores, and you can change sides at the lower end of the rapids via a road bridge across the river. The best places for sea trout fishing can be found on both shores of the intermediate shelter above the bridge, as well as right on the neck of the rapids. Salmon are most easily reached from the neck area, but areas below can also provide salmon contact. Deviating from the Siikakoski licensed area, fishing in Langinkoski will start at the beginning of December, so if the ice situation allows, it will be possible to fish in the area throughout the winter.
In addition to salmon and sea trout, Langinkoski also has particularly good opportunities to reach other fish species in the Kymijoki River, such as toutain, zander, pike and local trout.
In addition to rapids-specific fishing license, those aged 18-64 must have paid a fisheries management fee before starting fishing.
Salmons and trouts that breed in the wild, there is a andipose fin between the dorsal and caudal fins. This fin has been removed from the fish planted. All salmons and trouts with andipose fin must be released. We also encourage the release all trouts and salmons without andipose fin to ensure the strengthening of wild fish stocks. Even these fish are important for the future of the river.
